Israel's Parliamentary Elections- An Information Guide

We have compiled the following items about Israel's parliamentary elections for your classroom use. As we move closer to election day and observe the formation of the government coalition, additional items will be posted to this resource page. We encourage you to look at the resource page every five days or so for more information.

• "How Does the Israeli Political System Work?" Written especially for CIE, this PowerPoint presentation describes the workings of the Israeli political and electoral systems. Supplementary notes for the PowerPoint are included. For 9th graders and up.

"Israel's Electoral System." This is a convenient handout or reference for you to assign to your students. It is taken from the Israeli parliament website. For 8th graders and up.

• " Israel's Political Parties and Platforms." From IsraelVotes. For 6th graders and up.

• "Israeli Elections Website." If your students read some Hebrew, try this wonderful interactive website where they can learn about the history of Israeli elections and how the parliament works, and see the ballot papers for each party, all while practicing their Hebrew reading skills.
