CIE One-Day Professional Development Workshops
The ISMI workshops are aimed at bringing educators from various teaching settings to a one-day sessions to learn new information and exchange best practices about teaching modern Israel. The goals are to have teachers understand why and how the study of Israel is part of both modern Jewish history and modern Middle Eastern history, and to unravel in an uncomplicated fashion the themes and methods that established and sustained the state.
The highly interactive workshops are designed for elementary, middle and high school educators, who can and will use the materials provided to augment their teaching about Israel. Materials and books are provided to attending teachers. The one-day workshops are conducted by ISMI staff, with all logistical arrangements managed by local coordinators.
